Mindful Monday: Winter Greens Edition

Mindful Monday

Mindful Monday is a tradition where we take a few minutes to reflect on the week gone by and the one ahead.

Feel free to join in the fun by commenting!

What Is There To Be Grateful For?

  • Connection: Last week I got to talk to a lot of special, beautiful, inspiring souls. It was great to connect with Linda, Maartje, and Jaime among others.
  • Bubbling up of ideas: Somehow since I started tracking all kinds of metrics, like my income and how often I exercise, I feel like I’ve liberated a part of my brain. And that part of my brain has been thinking up ideas for me to implement. You’ll be seeing some of these in the next few weeks!
  • Going to SXSW: I finally pulled the trigger and bought my tickets to SXSW. I first heard of SXSW in 1999 on the blog Jish.nu (back when .nu domains were all the hype) and I wanted to go and mingle with bloggers there so badly. Of course I was only 14. Now that I’m 24, I think I’ll be able to really take advantage of everything happening at SXSW. If you’re planning to attend leave a comment or send me a message on Twitter so we can meet up when we’re there!

Intentions For The Week Ahead

  • Honing my listening skills: I have lots of 1 on 1 phone calls scheduled this week and I really want to be present and practice listening with my full attention. I know it’s just a matter of stopping the mind chatter and just going with the flow of the conversation.
  • Preparing Content for The Food Divide Call: I’m going to spend some time polishing up the content for the free call I’m doing with the lovely Annie Lin. The teleseminar is called: 10 Ways to Solve the Food Divide so You Can Have Harmony at The Dining Table, and it’s happening January 21st. Get more details and sign up here.
  • Innerpreneur Meetup: Tonight I’m attending the 3rd Innerpreneur meeting here in Toronto, Canada. I’m in awe at the amazing things these fellow entrepreneurs are doing, and how much in tune they are with their passion and purpose. Check out Tara and Jamie.

Yay, SXSW! I have also wanted to go for years, and this is the first year that I am going. We will have to connect IRL again :)

Yes definitely!! It's funny how it's been in the back of my mind for so long, and yet I waffled about making the decision. Really looking forward to seeing you again too. :)

Last year was my first year and it was a blast! I'm planning on going again (although I haven't bought the ticket yet)

But it would be great to finally meet you. Hopefully we can find a healthier side of Austin

Ooh glad to hear it was fun! And yes it will be awesome to finally meet! Let's do it – healthier side of Austin, here we come. :)

P.S. Added you to my list of peeps to meet at SXSW on twitter. http://twitter.com/NathLussier/people-to-meet-s…

I look forward to seeing you tonight, Nathalie! Mindful Monday's. What a beautiful idea to reflect on the week gone by and the one ahead. I look forward to hearing more about how this practice has changed your perspective. And so cool that you are going to SXSW! Shoot, another thing to pick your brain about tonight;)

Yeah I'm wondering how it will shift things too actually. ;) Yay let's discuss tonight!

I'd love to go to SXSW at some point. Let's see, I'm grateful to be an optimist, for my little family (hubby & puppy), and for the healthy direction in which we are headed.

As for my intentions for the week, I always bite off more than I can chew! I'm trying to be more intentional with my time, exercise, get all those first of the year things completed, and create time each day to reconnect with Irish. At least I am gentle on myself when I don't meet my own expectations. Any forward step is progress.

So cool, let me know when you do make it out to SXSW I'd love to meet you! :)

And boy can I ever relate to biting off more than I can chew for the week. It's good that you are aware of that and are gentle on yourself! Way to go, and thanks for sharing. :)

Thanks, I'd love to meet you too! I'll be sure to let you know if we do go.

Thanks for the discussion. I think it's always good to aspire, but you can't make yourself crazy with unobtainable ideals either. It's a kind balance between contentment and aspiration. :)
