How to Make Fresh Vegetable Juice at Home

Have you ever had a taste of freshly made vegetable juice? It’s one of the most nourishing foods out there. And today I’m going to show you just how to make this type of fresh veggie juice.

How to Make Vegetable Juice Video

Veggie Juice Ingredients

The beauty of making vegetable juice is that you can pretty much improvise with what you’ve got in your kitchen or garden.

That being said, here’s what I used in this particular juice.

  • Carrots (tops and all)
  • Apples
  • Ginger
  • Celery
  • Parsley

Juicer Recommendations

I’ve heard great things about the Breville Juice Fountain, and many raw foodies recommend it. One of the benefits is that it’s a good quality juicer, for a pretty fair price.

It also has a wider opening, so you don’t need to cut fruits or vegetables as small to get them juiced.

The juicer I own is the Omega J8005 Nutrition Center Single-Gear Commercial Masticating Juicer. What I like about it is that you can use it to make green juice, and other treats like nut butters, raw fruit sorbets and ice creams, and baby food.

It’s got a heftier price tag, but because it uses a mastication system you’re actually getting more juice for your buck. Before I got this blender I always cringed when I saw how much juice was left in the pulp. Now the pulp is totally dry.

What is Your Favorite Mix?

I’d love to know what your favorite mix of vegetable juice is. I’m pretty partial to my “Beet Goes On” beet juice recipe. What else do you like to drink?

Love, Nathalie

Nice! I was doing lots of carrot juice but when I cut out sugar and stopped with carrots and apples, I dropped some puffiness really fast and I feel more stable in my moods. But when I make a green juice and it's a little too green for me, I just add a bit of stevia to take the edge off the taste.

Ginger is one of my favorite things to add to juice because it's such a powerful anti-inflammatory agent and it'll knock out aches and pains–even rheumatoid arthritis–in under 3 days if you are consistent about taking it.

Great video, Nathalie!

Yes this is great info Sukie! I love love love ginger, and I try to eat some as often as I can… in salads, etc.

I'm always a bit uneasy with veggie juices. I love my green smoothies, but they are mostly fruit-based. It's been a while that I haven't used my juicer. It's quite old and definitely not the best brand, but I think it could still make some great veggie juice! Your recipe looks yummy, not the like the super bitter veggie juice I once tried.

Ooh do give it a try Veronica! I found that it takes a little getting used to, but once you get in the habit of juicing.. it's something you pretty much crave. ;)

Hello

I juice a lot. Lately, though, I want a muffin! Do you have a sugar-free recipe? Also, cookies!

My favorite juice is spinach, apple, cucumber and lemon. Recently I've also been drinking just cucumber juice combined with fresh coconut juice – heavenly!

Yum! I love fresh coconut juice too, it's one of my “must-gets” whenever I find them at stores. :)
