Mindful Monday: Islands Edition

What are you grateful for this week?

  • Trip to Toronto’s Centre Island: Yesterday my boyfriend Robin and I boarded a ferry to Toronto’s Centre Island. It was my first time going, and it was a great way to go get away from the busy-ness of the city. It was especially nice because there weren’t too many people yet… ahhh.
  • Great books to read: I never run out of great books to read, and for that I’m super grateful. Here’s a taste of what’s on my bedside table at the moment: Obese From The Heart, Hat Full of Sky, Listen First – Sell Later, and The Craving Cure (no relation to Cure Cravings Forever – just doing my homework to add more great stuff to the program).
  • Rollerblading! I learned how to roller blade 2 summers ago, with Robin’s encouragement. I hadn’t had much of a chance to go roller blading last summer, but I strapped on my inline skates yesterday and it felt good! I’ve never been much of skater (yes, even though I’m Canadian) so it’s always a big deal to get myself out there.

Update: My hometown of Stanstead didn’t win the hockeyville competition, but thanks to everyone who helped and voted! :) It was a fun contest to participate in.

What are your intentions for the coming week?

  • Lots of writing: I’ve got tons of writing, crafting, and idea tweaking to do. I love writing, so this is just a natural extension of what I’d be doing no matter what. :)
  • Innerpreneur meeting tonight: As always, I’m looking forward to seeing the lovely Tara at our Innerpreneur meeting. The last time we met up with Jamie, there was snow in the streets and now there’s sunshine. Ahh spring!
  • The first Magick Menu Roundtable Call: The first Magick Menu Roundtable Call is happening this week, and I’m super excited to be going over the details of… your healthy plan of action! If you’re not a Magick Menu holder yet, become one by clicking here.

Mindful Monday: Hockeyville Edition

What are you grateful for?

  • Stanstead in the Top 5 of Hockeyville: There’s a Canadian contest happening, and it’s all about picking a town to turn into Hockeyville. My small home town of 3000 people made it to the top 5 towns in this competition. I’d love to have you vote for them by clicking here and voting. :)
  • My Family: I just got two phone calls, one from my mom and one from my dad. I feel totally blessed to get to talk to them and hear all the news. I love you guys!
  • Happy Launching: Last week I launched my latest project – The Magick Menu. There were a few technical hiccups, but overall it was a great launch and I’m so happy to finally have an offering that everyone can use to get started with raw food!

What are your intentions for the coming week?

  • Being Gentle on Myself: I’ve been running on launch-induced adrenalin for the past few days. Now it’s time to ease back into a routine that is a little more gentle on myself.
  • Looking at the Gap: I’m working on my next big-secret-project (okay maybe not that secret) and I intend to look for the need. The need that the current offerings out there aren’t filling, so that I may be the one to fill it and help people.
  • Sharing Life Purpose Piece: I’m super excited to be hosting a call with Annika Ek this Wednesday March 31st at 8pm ET / 5pm PT. If you’re even remotely interested in finding out your life’s purpose, then this is for you. Click here to RSVP now to get the call in details.

Mindful Monday: Post SXSW Edition

And… we’re back! Last time I was going on about my upcoming trip to SXSW, and now I’m recapping.

What are you grateful for this week?

  • A Good Night’s Sleep: During SXSW I spent most nights catching up with friends or making new acquaintances. It was totally awesome! Though coming home to my bed and sleeping regular hours again is something I’m very much grateful for.
  • Owning How I Look: Since I hadn’t changed my twitter icon in over a year, it was hard for people to recognize me at SXSW. I took some new photos this week-end to reflect my new hair cut and my glasses. I’ve always had something against wearing my glasses in photos because of some residual stuff my mom passed down to me. Now I’m working on owning my geek girl look!
  • My Awesome Support Network: From all the great friends I met at SXSW, to my boyfriend Robin, to my family members and friends… and to YOU my reader and raw food business friend (client sounds too stuffy). I feel so grateful to each and every person for making this such an awesome time to know each other!

What do you intend for the coming week?

  • How to Make Healthy Eating Inevitable Event: This Thursday March 25th at 4pm ET / 1pm PT I’m hosting a live ustream event called “How to Make Healthy Eating Inevitable“. RSVP here and you’ll also get a link to the recording if you can’t make it live.
  • Polishing and Unveiling: As you know if you read the blog regularly, I’ve been working on my Next Big Thing for quite some time now. This week it’s finally time to unveil it, and I’m just putting the finishing touches on it. Make sure you’re registered for the live ustream event to get all the details!
  • Preparing to do an Interview with Annika Ek: On March 31st I’m hosting the lovely Annika Ek for a special teleclass all about finding your life’s purpose. What Are You Grateful for This Week?

  • International Women’s Day: It’s time to celebrate International Women’s day, and what better way than with The Women’s International Summit for Health? I’ve been sending out links to WISH to my newsletter subscribers for the past few weeks in anticipation for today. Because we really need to celebrate women and women’s health together.
  • Thought Provoking Movies and Good Food: Friday night I enjoyed an evening in good company at one of Toronto’s raw restaurants called Rawlicious. (I loved the raw pizza I had, super double yum!) We watched the movie The Yes Men Fix the World, and it was a very relaxed but insightful movie followed by great conversations.
  • An Awesome Walk by the Lakeshore: Sunday my boyfriend Robin and I took the most amazing walk along the lake shore. It was sunny, it felt like spring, and there were these gorgeous sea birds out on the lake. It was a great way to get reconnected to nature. It made me realize how much I love being outside in it.

What Do You Intend for the Coming Week?

  • Lots of Ease in Finishing my Work: I’m heading to SXSW in a few days and I have this massive to-do list to finish. I intend to check things off easily, in a flowing way that doesn’t cause me stress or worry. I know everything will get done.
  • Simple, Quick, Packing: I’m generally good at packing and organizing before a trip (see my how to eat healthy at SXSW post) but I want this time to be stress-free. I know that the weather in Austin is going to be warmer than here, but I’m ready to pack a little variety to make sure I’m comfortable no matter what.
  • An Awesome Time in Austin: I intend to meet some awesome people, learn some cool stuff, and enjoy myself at SXSW. Looking at the schedule at SXSW is a little overwhelming. I know it’s all about hanging out in the Bloggers Lounge or meeting people between sessions rather than trying to fit every panel in.

Mindful Monday: Olympics Edition

What Are You Grateful for This Week?

  • Canadian Hockey: Yesterday the Canadian hockey team won the gold medal in the winter Olympics, and it was epic. There was no shortage of cheering on the streets of downtown Toronto, and it was just such a fun time to be Canadian. ;)
  • Meeting New Friends: I’ve been making connections left and right, some of which are just so much fun and I am super grateful! Check out Liz Rice for her veg*/eco friendly events, Justine for her Etsy marketing materials, and Bianca for her freelancing. I’m also grateful for meeting with my wildly brilliant friends Tara and Jamie!
  • The End of February: With the end of February comes March! I am super grateful for both the warmer (I assume) weather and the fact that SXSW is coming up! If you’ll be at SXSWi let me know, I’d love to meet you. :)

What Do You Intend for The Coming Week?

  • Rolling Out the Goodies: I’ve been hard at work creating my next set of recipe videos, and a new recipe book. I’m super excited that this week I get to share a piece with everyone!
  • Recipes & More Recipes: I’ll likely have my head in the recipes for a big chunk of this week, not that I mind. I can’t wait to share what my next Big Thing is going to be! :)
  • More Live Events: Working on promoting my next live raw event, happening in April. I’m hosting another live Spread Your Raw Food Wings class here in Toronto, woohoo! There are only half the spots left, so if you want in click here to sign up.
