What Are You Grateful For?

  • Awesome sunshine: The weather has been swinging from hot to cold and back again. I’m just grateful for the amazing sunshine, it makes everything a little bit better. Great walks, spring energy, and lots of budding trees and flowers.
  • All the Amazing People in The Magick Menu: I am filled with gratitude at the number of people, and the great enthusiasm and energy of my Magick Menu members. I’m so thankful to be able to do this work as my full time career, and I hope it is making an impact in your lives as much as it did in mine!
  • Meeting David Wolfe: On the week-end I attended one of David Wolfe‘s events here in Toronto, and it was just packed with awesome content, great people, and amazing energy. It was great to be able to ask David some questions and really get to know him more personally outside of his videos and writing.

What are Your Intentions for the Week?

  • Spreading my Raw Truth: This Thursday I’m giving a lecture at The Big Carrot in Toronto on how to deal with cravings for junk food. I’m also going to be teaching my Spread Your Raw Food Wings Class this week-end. If you wish you could come but don’t live nearby, I’m hosting a virtual class on May 22nd, so check it out.
  • Suspending Judgement: I’m always looking to improve myself through new experiments and self development work. One of the things that has really helped me to move forward has been suspending judgement, of myself as well as others. This week I’m practicing it more consciously, feel free to join me. :)
  • Walking Barefoot: One of my big take-aways from David Wolfe’s talk was the importance of being connected to the earth. I have been enjoying walking along the waterfront to relax these past few weeks… but now I’m adding a new dimension! I got a pair of Vibram Five Fingers shoes, which are very close to being barefoot. I’ll report back on my progress with these and walking almost barefoot!

Mindful Monday: Islands Edition

What are you grateful for this week?

  • Trip to Toronto’s Centre Island: Yesterday my boyfriend Robin and I boarded a ferry to Toronto’s Centre Island. It was my first time going, and it was a great way to go get away from the busy-ness of the city. It was especially nice because there weren’t too many people yet… ahhh.
  • Great books to read: I never run out of great books to read, and for that I’m super grateful. Here’s a taste of what’s on my bedside table at the moment: Obese From The Heart, Hat Full of Sky, Listen First – Sell Later, and The Craving Cure (no relation to Cure Cravings Forever – just doing my homework to add more great stuff to the program).
  • Rollerblading! I learned how to roller blade 2 summers ago, with Robin’s encouragement. I hadn’t had much of a chance to go roller blading last summer, but I strapped on my inline skates yesterday and it felt good! I’ve never been much of skater (yes, even though I’m Canadian) so it’s always a big deal to get myself out there.

Update: My hometown of Stanstead didn’t win the hockeyville competition, but thanks to everyone who helped and voted! :) It was a fun contest to participate in.

What are your intentions for the coming week?

  • Lots of writing: I’ve got tons of writing, crafting, and idea tweaking to do. I love writing, so this is just a natural extension of what I’d be doing no matter what. :)
  • Innerpreneur meeting tonight: As always, I’m looking forward to seeing the lovely Tara at our Innerpreneur meeting. The last time we met up with Jamie, there was snow in the streets and now there’s sunshine. Ahh spring!
  • The first Magick Menu Roundtable Call: The first Magick Menu Roundtable Call is happening this week, and I’m super excited to be going over the details of… your healthy plan of action! If you’re not a Magick Menu holder yet, become one by clicking here.

What Are You Grateful for This Week?

  • Canadian Hockey: Yesterday the Canadian hockey team won the gold medal in the winter Olympics, and it was epic. There was no shortage of cheering on the streets of downtown Toronto, and it was just such a fun time to be Canadian. ;)
  • Meeting New Friends: I’ve been making connections left and right, some of which are just so much fun and I am super grateful! Check out Liz Rice for her veg*/eco friendly events, Justine for her Etsy marketing materials, and Bianca for her freelancing. I’m also grateful for meeting with my wildly brilliant friends Tara and Jamie!
  • The End of February: With the end of February comes March! I am super grateful for both the warmer (I assume) weather and the fact that SXSW is coming up! If you’ll be at SXSWi let me know, I’d love to meet you. :)

What Do You Intend for The Coming Week?

  • Rolling Out the Goodies: I’ve been hard at work creating my next set of recipe videos, and a new recipe book. I’m super excited that this week I get to share a piece with everyone!
  • Recipes & More Recipes: I’ll likely have my head in the recipes for a big chunk of this week, not that I mind. I can’t wait to share what my next Big Thing is going to be! :)
  • More Live Events: Working on promoting my next live raw event, happening in April. I’m hosting another live Spread Your Raw Food Wings class here in Toronto, woohoo! There are only half the spots left, so if you want in click here to sign up.

Mindful Monday: Valentine’s Chinese New Year

This week I’m taking some time away from the computer. That’s right, I’m celebrating both Chinese New Year with my boyfriend Robin, and Valentines Day.

What Are You Grateful For This Week?

  • Systems! I’m really working on streamlining my business systems and so far it’s working out quite nicely. I’m glad I’m building these things into place now and not waiting until things get too complicated to fix them.
  • Videos! I’m really grateful for having made and published the Raw Relationships video with my boyfriend Robin. I’ve been getting a lot of good feedback and it’s just awesome to hear that it’s helpful for people.
  • Dentists! Okay, maybe not grateful for going to the dentist but I’m grateful that it’s my last appointment until summer. Plus it was one of the shorter rendez-vous with a dentist I’ve had so that was something to be grateful about too!

What Are Your Intentions For the Coming Week?

  • Partnerships: Partnerships and working together with other people have really been on my mind lately. I know that all of the ideas and details will sort themselves out nicely this week and the next.
  • To Crank Out Some Good Stuff: As you know, I’m working on my next project and things are starting to shape up nicely. This week I’m really going to be pouring my creative and productive energy into getting this stuff in a presentable form and out of my head!
  • Figuring Tax Stuff Out: In general my tax situation is pretty simple, but I want to get some momentum on this so it doesn’t come back and bite me later.

What Are You Grateful for This Week?

  • Friendships in bloom: Yesterday I went to Jamie Riddler’s Full Moon Dreamboard circle and all of my Toronto twitter people were there! :) It was so awesome to see all these great ladies again and meet new ones too: Jennie, Tara, Lynn, Anita, and of course Jamie!
  • That space between: At the circle, we each got to pick a card and explain why we think we got that card. Mine was “wait” and on the back of the card it said: sometimes the best action is no action at all. This stopped me in my tracks, because I’m very much the go-getter action type. Yet I have been feeling like I’m between things, like I know where I want to go but it’s just not ready for me yet. Now with this “wait” card I think I can stop worrying about making this happen and just wait for them. They’re coming for sure, it’s just a matter of time now.
  • Puppies! My boyfriend Robin and I have been talking about getting a dog for awhile. Marie Forleo recently got a puppy (a mighty cute one at that) and it’s been stirring up my ambition for a dog. So I put lots of cute dog pictures on my dreamboard.

What Do You Intend For The Coming Week?

  • Overhauling: This week I intend to go through the site and my systems with a fine comb and improve the little things that add up to bigger things.
  • Wrap up January: There were a lot of little things that I didn’t quite wrap up for January since my friend was visiting. Now is the perfect time to clean up and organize a little.
  • Preparing and planning: For my live event happening this Saturday Feb 6th. For the most part it’s ready to go, but I still need to buy the food and get things polished up!

What Are You Delegating?

Jen from Inspired Home Office delegates to God or the Universe, whichever works. I love the concept!

  • Finding the remaining 2 right people for my Spread Your Raw Food Wings Event this Saturday February 6th, 2010 in Toronto, Canada.
  • Figuring out the details on an upcoming project I want to get involved in.
  • Migrating everything over to a new system as smoothly, easily, and quickly as possible.
  • Finding the time to do more creative play in the evenings.
  • Getting all the little bits and pieces ready for my class this Saturday so that everyone has a great time, learns a lot, and enjoys some delicious food!
