What are you grateful for this week?

Trip to Toronto's Centre Island: Yesterday my boyfriend Robin and I boarded a ferry to Toronto's Centre Island. It was my first time going, and it was a great way to go get away from the busy-ness of the city. It was especially nice because there weren't too many people yet... ahhh.

Great books to read: I never run out of great books to read, and for that I'm super grateful. Here's a taste of what's on my bedside table at the moment: Obese From The Heart, Hat Full of Sky, Listen First - Sell Later, and The Craving Cure (no relation to Cure Cravings Forever - just doing my homework to add more great stuff to the program).

Rollerblading! I learned how to roller blade 2 summers ago, with Robin's encouragement. I hadn't had much of a chance to go roller blading last summer, but I strapped on my inline skates yesterday and it felt good! I've never been much of skater (yes, even though I'm Canadian) so it's always a big deal to get myself out there.

Update: My hometown of Stanstead didn't win the hockeyville competition, but thanks to everyone who helped and voted! :) It was a fun contest to participate in.

What are your intentions for the coming week?

Lots of writing: I've got tons of writing, crafting, and idea tweaking to do. I love writing, so this is just a natural extension of what I'd be doing no matter what. :)

Innerpreneur meeting tonight: As always, I'm looking forward to seeing the lovely Tara at our Innerpreneur meeting. The last time we met up with Jamie, there was snow in the streets and now there's sunshine. Ahh spring!

The first Magick Menu Roundtable Call: The first Magick Menu Roundtable Call is happening this week, and I'm super excited to be going over the details of... your healthy plan of action! If you're not a Magick Menu holder yet, become one by clicking here.

What Are You Grateful For This Week?

Speaking at PodCamp Toronto 2010: On Saturday I spoke to roughly 80-100 people on How to turn your Raw Passion into a Budding Business using Social Media. It was so much fun, there were some great questions and I felt so energized during and after the talk. It reminded me why I like speaking!

Great romance novels: I read a few great romance novels over the week-end and it was a great way to unplug from the computer.

Exercising my creativity: I had fun making a little raw meal planning video. It's a parody on the google commercial from the superbowl and it was just a fun way to flex my techy video skills too!

What Do You Intend For the Coming Week?

To Make Stuff Happen in my Kitchen: I've got a lot of ideas for recipes brewing, and I just need to set aside some time to make them happen in my kitchen!

Make Progress & Wrap up some projects: As you know, I'm working on my next Big Thing, and things are moving along nicely. I would like to get the majority of the work for this project done and wrapped up nicely this week.

Swimming: I plan on working pretty hard this week but I also want to balance that out with going swimming and taking an exercise break.

Location and Atmosphere

Live Organic Food Bar, located in Toronto, Ontario, Canada is a restaurant that caters to raw vegans. It also includes some non-raw items, but if you're raw and living in or visiting Toronto, their raw menu will more than satisfy you!

The Live restaurant is located near The University of Toronto, which is very convenient for all raw University students.

The atmosphere inside the restaurant is warm, welcoming, and clean. I visited on a Friday night and it got packed. There was an infectious laughter full of energy in Live's large open space.

The Food

I need to preface my opinion of the food by saying that I've been to many Raw Food restaurants all over North America. Still, I understand that not all restaurants are trying to be gourmet like Pure Food and Wine of New York City does.

Now onto the good stuff: I had the raw tacos, and my friend had a big bowl salad. We each had a juice, I had the Green Kick and she had a Faerie dust.

The tacos were bursting with flavor, and everything was super fresh. I really couldn't give their tacos a better rating, they are better than any taco (raw or not) I've made at home, and that's saying something!

The Green Kick juice was also great, fresh, and energizing.

My friend and I were both extremely satisfied, so much so that we weren't tempted by the raw desserts.

Now, as my boyfriend would say, "That's something!" because I live for raw desserts. As I've mentioned before, I was the chocolate and candy girl. So we took pictures of the desserts, and I plan to go back to try them sometime.

Prices

The restaurant prices were very fair. As far as raw food restaurants go, Live's prices were about average. I've not seen many inexpensive raw vegan restaurants, and Live prices were lower than restaurants in the United States. Not to mention that the food is made from Organic produce, which isn't always that cheap.

Raw Food Switch Restaurant Review Rating

Overall I give Live Raw Food Bar Restaurant in Toronto a 4 out of 5 rating. I'd love to go back there and sample more of their menu, especially the desserts! I definitely recommend it to other raw foodies or those who are curious about eating raw.

The Live restaurant is located near The University of Toronto, which is very convenient for all raw University students.

The atmosphere inside the restaurant is warm, welcoming, and clean. I visited on a Friday night and it got packed. There was an infectious laughter full of energy in Live’s large open space.

The Food

I need to preface my opinion of the food by saying that I’ve been to many Raw Food restaurants all over North America.

I really couldn’t give their tacos a better rating, they are better than any taco (raw or not) I’ve made at home, and that’s saying something!

The Green Kick juice was also great, fresh, and energizing.

My friend and I were both extremely satisfied, so much so that we weren’t tempted by the raw desserts.

Now, as my boyfriend would say, “That’s something!” because I live for raw desserts. As I’ve mentioned before, I was the chocolate and candy girl. So we took pictures of the desserts, and I plan to go back to try them sometime.

Prices

The restaurant prices were very fair. As far as raw food restaurants go, Live’s prices were about average. I’ve not seen many inexpensive raw vegan restaurants, and Live prices were lower than restaurants in the United States. Not to mention that the food is made from Organic produce, which isn’t always that cheap.

Raw Food Switch Restaurant Review Rating

Overall I give Live Raw Food Bar Restaurant in Toronto a 4 out of 5 rating. I’d love to go back there and sample more of their menu, especially the desserts! I definitely recommend it to other raw foodies or those who are curious about eating raw.
